For those who found experts exchange (www.expertsexchange.com, long abandoned) the funniest URL ever, truck battery manufacturer POWERGEN ITALIA-will send you into spasms of laughter.
from ntk.net
You made me choke on my my cookie!
Besides having a funny suggestive domain name and company name. I am not rolling on the ground. It is a legitimate business with a product line.
remember what PT Barnum said... any publicity is good publicity. Anyhow, it's interesting to recall that quite innocent things have unexpected consequences.
What would the solution be? A hyphen would, of course, force a visual break in the appropriate place, but then that might interfere with recall. But again, one might use the hyphen in print materials, and resolve the non-hyphen to the hyphen if people type that in.
But it is good to recall human brains will make mischief of almost anything... and I got this off a mailing list where people are already giggling juveniley, as I am. You can frown, and tap your foot all you wish, but there is a beavis and butthead within us all, waiting to be released.
Humans!
