I sent a private response to Lou and Peter early on, but I would like to share this part of it with the community:

<snip> This is heartbreaking and sobering news. Heartbreaking because Argus has always stood, in my mind, for the highest and most righteous combination of business savvy, intellectual integrity, and professional leadership. Sobering because if Argus -- the best and the brightest -- can't make it, then none of us is safe. </snip>

Of course, both Lou and Peter responded and graciously disagreed with my gloomy conclusion: Just one more example of their continuing leadership role.

So in the spirit of St. Patrick's Day and the optimism of spring and continual regeneration, perhaps we should be having a lively wake, complete with fiddling and leaping and looking to the future!

Having seen all the responses both here and on the ASIS SIG-IA list, I can't wait to see what the next Ann Arbor offering will be. (But guys: take a tip from me and give yourselves a break before jumping into the fray again ...)
